Who Can Submit Updates
Updates may be submitted by:
- Licensed cannabis retailers
- Licensed producers with farmgate locations
- Authorized representatives acting on behalf of the above
Submissions from unlicensed or illicit operators will not be accepted.
Purpose of the Platform
legal-cannabis.ca supports the legal cannabis ecosystem by:
- Providing a unified national directory of licensed retailers
- Helping consumers identify legal stores and avoid illicit operators
- Offering retailers and producers a compliance-safe way to share factual operational details
- Enhancing public access to verified information without promotional content
What You Can Submit
You may provide factual, non-promotional information to expand your listing(s). Accepted details include:
- Store name (as licensed)
- Legal operating name (optional)
- Licence number (optional)
- Address and location details
- Contact information (phone, website, email)
- Hours of operation
- Retailer type (private, government, farmgate)
- Accessibility features
- Amenities (parking, transit access, ATM availability)
- Delivery or pickup availability (province dependent)
- Indigenous ownership designation
- Operational notes (e.g., “Located inside mall”, “Entrance at rear”)
Compliance Requirements
To remain compliant with the Cannabis Act and provincial regulations, submissions must be strictly factual. The following content is not permitted:
- Product descriptions, menus, THC/CBD percentages
- Pricing, discounts, promotions, or deals
- Brand logos, banners, or lifestyle imagery
- Testimonials, reviews, or customer quotes
- Marketing language or claims
- Youth-oriented content or visuals
legal-cannabis.ca does not publish any content that could be interpreted as advertising under the Cannabis Act. All submissions undergo manual verification before being added to the directory.

- Approved updates will be added to your listing on legal-cannabis.ca
Submitting updates is optional and free of charge for all licensed retailers and producers.
Bulk Updates (Multiple Locations or Chain Submissions)
Licensed retailers or producers with multiple store locations may submit updates in bulk. This option is ideal for national or provincial chains, multi-store operators, or producers managing several farmgate sites. Bulk updates should be submitted directly by email, rather than through the standard form.
How to Submit Bulk Updates

Your email should include:
- A list of all locations requiring updates
- Store names (as licensed)
- Addresses and licence numbers
- Factual operational details for each location
- Any changes to hours, accessibility, amenities, or contact information
- A designated point of contact for follow-up verification

Bulk submissions may be provided in:
- CSV
- Excel
- JSON
- PDF (for official documents)
All data must be factual, non-promotional, and aligned with provincial licensing records. Bulk submissions undergo the same manual review and compliance checks as individual updates.
